Brian is influenced by an eclectic background of music styles. The first musical artists he recalls listening to were those featured on the local Little Rock oldies station. Naturally, he developed a penchant for the the simple lyrics and catchy melodies of yesteryear’s music. Brian grew up singing in church regularly, but he couldn’t wait to get back out to the family car after each sermon to listen to his favorite station. At the age of 13, his grandparents bought him his first guitar and exposed him to artists like George Strait, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson, thus encouraging Brian’s fondness for country music. His mother exposed him to the likes of Elton John and Billy Joel; his father introduced him to the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac; his sister inspired his appreciation for Norah Jones and various pop artists. Brian discovered how much he liked to mix his favorite musical styles and the result was the multifaceted format he now showcases, which is solidly rooted in country and soft rock.
